Perfect for use with Griots Garage BOSS 3 inch Pads!
Griots Garage 3 inch HD Backing Plate, designed specifically for the Griot’s Garage 6” Random Orbital. It’s made of a dense polyurethane foam base and hard plastic composite top, is perfect for use with the Griots Garage BOSS 3 inch Pads. The actual diameter is actually closer to 2 7/8 inches, making it a perfect fit.
This plate is uniquely designed to dampen vibration when polishing and to reduce heat transfer from the polisher to the paint. The 6 steel pins evenly distribute pressure across the top plate to ensure a long life. The balanced micro-hook and loop backing is firmly held in place, ensuring your pads run cool and aren’t going anywhere you don’t want them to!

I've used this on and off for about a year now on my PC7424XP and have zero complaints. Honestly I have not experienced any noticeable vibration differences when using this vs my 5" (or 5.5") backing plate.

Seems like it's well made , well balanced. I use it on a Griots Garage 6 inch polisher. You can run the machine at a fairly high speed without any instabilities. It's definitely a must have for small polishing machines.
