SONAX Brilliant Shine Detailer 5 L

My go to detail spray and so far none has been to dethrone.

Absolutely love this stuff. Sonax BSD is the most durable product I've used - on my CX-9, it lasts for just over a month if I'm washing once per week. It's also the best for water behaviour, as the water will bead up and sheet right off the paint. Other products I've used produce similar beading, but the water seems to stick to the paint more, resulting in water spots.

The only thing I don't like about BSD is how thick it is, and how tough it can sometimes be to apply, but if you give the microfiber a spray before working the product in, it's much easier. Also, minimal pressure when doing the final wipe will yield better results than trying to "buff" the excess off. I mix BSD with another thinner product to make spraying it on a little easier, and I also use a different spray bottle. While I'm sure I'll try other products in the future, I know I'll always come back to BSD, so the 5L was a no brainer.

The car was not driven during or after the rainfall (both times it rained while I was at work, and the car/roads were dry by the time I drove home). Third picture shows the lower portion of the door, where I would usually see drip marks from the water.

Sonax BSD has been around for a long time because it works. It is a little thick so removal can be slow. I like to mix in CG V07 sealant (not really a sealant, closer to a QD) to thin it out, but it works fine alone. It creates great gloss and slickness while leaving very good protection. It can be used as a drying aid cutting down on water spotting while adding gloss and protection. Buy it in the 5 liter size because you will return to this product over and over. Can be used as a topper over wax, sealants, or coatings. Also can be used as a stand alone LSP giving a few weeks protection. Beading is superb.
