Aquapel Glass Treatment & Rain Repellent
Up to 6 months of glass protection with one application!
Keep auto glass clear with Aquapel Glass Treatment! A single application of this patented hydrophobic glass treatment repels water for up to 6 months. Aquapel Glass Treatment bonds to the glass to dramatically improve drivers’ visibility, day and night. Aquapel is used by countless professionals to seal and protect auto glass.
Aquapel Glass Treatment is a life-saver! It’s no coincidence that more traffic accidents occur in rainy conditions. Rain coats the windshield and mixes with oils and debris to create a blurry view of the road. It can be like looking through someone else’s eyeglasses. Aquapel Glass Treatment seals the glass to repel water. Rain beads on the windshield and rolls off to maintain better visibility and safer driving conditions.
Remember, Aquapel Glass Treatment is patented. There’s no other auto glass treatment that works as well or lasts as long. Aquapel’s hydrophobic coating lasts up to 6 times longer than comparable products! That’s because Aquapel bonds to the glass, rather than just sitting on top of it. Regular glass cleaning will not affect Aquapel’s durability.
For the best results, use Aquapel Glass Windshield Cleaner, a non-streaking spray foam.
Aquapel Glass Treatment is packaged in a unique one-time-use applicator. To apply Aquapel, clean and dry the glass first. Then grasp the Aquapel applicator by the wings and place the pad against the glass. Press the wings until liquid is released. Spread Aquapel over the glass using the soft pad built in to the applicator. Go in up and down and side to side motions to get good coverage. Immediately wipe the glass dry with a soft, Cobra Microfiber Towel. If using on a large windshield, work on one half of the windshield at a time to prevent premature drying.
Once your vehicle’s windshield and glass is treated with Aquapel Glass Treatment, you can enjoy up to 6 months of clear visibility and safer driving!

The difference is amazing! Aquapel Glass Treatment makes it easier to clear ice, snow, and dirt from the windshield because the glass is completely sealed. Aquapel Glass Treatment reduces the glare from headlights and streetlights in the rain, particularly at night. Aquapel Glass Treatment even helps reduce water marks and protects glass from salt water. Use it on your boat windows and windshield, in RVs, and on shower doors. |

You can see in these images how the sides of the windshield treated with Aquapel stay clearer in rainy weather than the sides left untreated. |

Ok product but maybe a wax is better

My friend suggested this product, does not seem to be very effective, he said they must have changed the formula to be more eco. He said to not let this drip on your paint or it would eat the paint. Have a paper towel ready to catch the excess and you don`t have to go to the edge of the glass. This will reduce the chance of dripping on your paint. They also has an expiration date, so check that when you get them and use them before they expire.
Ok but maybe something better
Not effective as I thought, expiration date I did not know about.

Long-time user - 20 years and still happy with it

I started using this in the early 2000's when it was sold as an STP product called Vision Blade. PPG soon after began selling it as Aquapel, primarily through auto glass replacement outlets and later through normal retail distribution.
I haven't found anything better in the last 20 years, although I recently applied a ceramic coating to a new vehicle windshield and am evaluating it for performance and durability.
Some application tips:
1) Clean your windshield thoroughly and then scrub it with grade 0000 steel wool to remove stubborn contaminants. Make sure to use 0000 to prevent scratching the glass. Wipe the dust off with a slightly damp cloth and let dry before proceeding.
2) Apply the liquid to the entire (dry) windshield, starting with the driver side. Aquapel binds with the glass almost instantly - as soon as it beads up. There is no 'thick' vs 'thin' - just swipe back-and-forth, then up-and-down to make sure the surface is fully covered.
3) Do not apply in direct sunlight or to a hot surface. If the liquid dries, it is a bear to remove.
4) I always have three paper towels, one slightly damp microfiber towel and one dry microfiber towel ready before I begin the application. After applying, wipe the entire windshield off with the first paper towel, follow with the second and move on to the third. By the third, it should be somewhat difficult to wipe the remaining residue off and the glass should look clear. As a finishing touch, wipe with the damp m/f and the dry m/f towels. You should be good for about six months.
My average application time for steps 2-4 is 10 minutes.
Aquapel works best at speeds of 45 mph and higher. I rarely use wipers above 45. The exception is road spray. A wet road without active rainfall does need to be swiped because the droplets are too small to quickly combine and roll up and off the windshield.
This product dramatically improves vision during rainy driving conditions. It also aids in clearing ice, frost and snow for cars left outside, but you will still need to use a snow broom or ice scraper to remove the frozen water.
Easy application and removal when done correctly
Long-lasting and non-smearing
Inexpensive, given its durability
Very difficult to wipe off if allowed to dry.

an oldy but a goodie

I avoided trying Aquapel for the longest time. I've tried every overhyped glass treatment on the market. Most of them worked about as well as the big box store stuff. Not so with Aquapel.
Aquapel lasts through the season of light rain we get in Oregon. It rains enough to block windshield vision, but not enough to properly lubricate the wipers. The result is that one or two swipes of the wipes and most treatments are compromised. I got multiple months out of this treatment.
comes off a little difficult

Easy to apply, only thing is it goes on a bit thick on the first half of the windshield but I was able to even it out.
