Optimum Paint Prep uses a combination of mild solvents to dissolve old wax, remove polishing and compounding oils, and leave behind a residue-free, squeaky clean surface. Use Optimum Paint Prep before applying Optimum Gloss Coat, or any paint coating, to promote maximized bonding and protection. Before paint protection comes paint cleaning!
Generally, before applying any type of surface protection, be it a wax, sealant, or semi-permanent coating, you want to get the paint shining and perfect. However, most compounds and polishes leave behind oils that can prevent your selected last step product from adhering fully and correctly. To be sure you get the best protection available, you must be sure your paint is fully prepped. And this is where Optimum Paint Prep comes in handy.
Optimum Paint Prep uses a combination of very mild solvents, nothing too harsh, just enough to remove all former waxes, polishes, compounds, or anything else that would prevent your LSP from bonding. Optimum Paint Prep does not contain any oils or surfactants and will leave no residue behind – simply a clean surface!
Because Optimum Paint Prep contains no oils or surfactants, it is perfectly safe to be used on any surface needing a quick clean. Be it exterior or interior, every dirty surface can be quickly cleaned using Optimum Paint Prep.
Before you put the time and energy into applying Optimum Gloss Coat for the best protection, make sure your surface is ready for “optimum” adhesion with Optimum Paint Prep. Simply spray Optimum Paint Prep onto surface and wipe off using a clean, soft, microfiber towel. The paint should look and feel smooth and clean. Repeat in affected areas, if necessary.

Works great in my opinion!

I’ve no other product to compare this to as it’s the only paint prep I’ve ever used. Been using it for over five years. Cost effective buying by the gallon. I always use this after polishing on paint, glass and plastic regardless of LSP. It smells of alcohol but not pungent. Wipe off is easy whether the paint is hard or soft. I’m one who likes to try different products but in this case I’ll be happy to continue using this.

I have used IPA as well as several products, I prefer Optimum Paint Prep. It just leaves the paint looking and feeling like car paint.
Seems to be the best so far. It was highly recommend and I am glad that I listened.
Same as most detailing supplies, I wish it grew on trees.

Very Good Paint Prep

This paint prep is really nice to use. I feel it has more lubrication than CarPro Eraser. CarPro Eraser becomes very grabby as it begins to evaporate as opposed to this product that continues to allow the towel to glide as it begins to dissipate into the paint. Only con is that it doesn't have a pleasant smell like CarPro Eraser. I think since there is more lubrication and glide, there is less chance of marring the finish prior to applying a coating.

Haven't found a better one. Makes applying coatings easier than ever. Get in the habit of using this before applying your LSP and you insure best performance.
