First off prep work is everything on glass. In order for this glass coating to have any chance of reaching it's rated durability numbers you need to compound the glass to truly deep clean the surface. After that you're free to use whatever panel prep you normally use to strip any remaining compounding oils/residue.
Here's the real secret to removing G1 easily without a fight. Take the G2 and atomize it. Grab a 100ml spritzer atomizer from Walmart and empty the G2 into it. Once you start doing this the removal process will be stupid easy for you and you'll also do the least amount of damage to the coating. Removal and leveling a coating properly are key to making it to the 1 or 2 year durability markers.
I'd rather just put a coat of cheap wax on after each wash. Better results for less money.
This stuff lasts ages! I did do a full decon and cut of the glass (CarPro CeriGlass DA Polisher and Glass pads), cleaned it with IPA and then appied it. I have used it on a '78 Holden Commodore, '12 Chrysler 300, '14 VW Golf, '18 VW Passat, '19 Kia Picanto and '08 Hyundai Getz and the results are always the same. Brilliant.
The oldest application is now 6 months, and is still going strong. I highly recommend this product, you will definitely not regret it.
