What an easy to use product!
July 27, 2022
This is the first time that I've polished and coated a car and the GTechniq Crystal Serum Light and EXO was a breeze to use! After washing, removing tar, removing iron fallout, and polishing out 98% of the scratches (some were very deep and couldn't be removed), I wiped down each panel with a 25%-30% IPA wipe and let it dry. Then, I wiped each panel with IPA a second time just to be sure all of the polish residue was gone.
Do yourself a favor and ditch the thick applicator pad that comes in the box and get a proper applicator foam block and a pack of small microfiber applicator squares (they look like the little cloths you get from the eye doctor for cleaning your glasses). This allows you better control over application and more control over how much product you use.
Apply a line (one dropper full) to the applicator cloth/pad and start wiping it on. Work small areas just like it says (watch some YouTube videos as well), and wipe methodically in a cross hatch pattern so application is even and you don't miss any spots. Let it sit for a minute or so (timing is not super critical - watch for the tiny little beads to appear in the reflection of the light) and then start wiping it off. I used three microfiber cloths for the wipe. The first wipe really just makes sure that it is spread evenly, and soaks up the excess. Then, wipe again with a second cloth. Finally, wipe a third time to make sure you got it all off (use a super-fluffy microfiber towel for the last wipe). Check your work with a bright light and be sure to wipe down the edges of adjacent panels as well to make sure you get it all off. Then move on to the next spot. Take your time and work methodically and with a light so you can see what you are doing.
My first time it took about 4 hours to coat my Volvo S60 sedan with CSL. Let it dry overnight and then apply two coats of EXO on the following day. Two coats of EXO on top of CSL also took me about 4 hours. Then keep your car in the garage for a few days to let it all cure and harden.
The 30mL bottle of CSL is enough for a small- to mid-size sedan. The 50mL bottle of CLS can probably do two small sedans. To thoroughly coat my Volvo S60 and my wife's Volvo XC60 took 80mL of CLS and 80mL of EXO. I did EVERYTHING - all of the panels, underside of the sides of the vehicles where all of the tar accumulates, inside the door jambs on both the car and the door frame - everything.
The results are AWESOME! I've never had cars shine like these two before! It rained a few days later and the water beaded up and slid right off of the car. There were no water spots left over from the rain at all, though there were some spots on the sides of the car from the drive home - no product is magic... The cars are garage kept, so I'll be curious to see how long the coating lasts. The CSL + EXO combo is supposed to last up to 5 years. For now, I'm super impressed and very pleased with the results. Total work (wash, clay, decontaminate, then coat) took about 5 full days of work. The coating was by far the easiest part. All of the work is in the prep for the coating.
Be sure to use gloves and work in an area with some cross-breeze!
Very easy to apply for a first-timer!
Price is incredibly reasonable, especially compared to the cost of someone else doing it.
Awesome results and shine.
Finished surface is incredibly smooth to the touch - your fingers just glide along the surface like never before!
Enjoy that shine!
None that I've identified!

Amazing

I prepped the car with iron remover, synthetic clay, correcting polish, perfectly polish, and panel prep before applying CSL and EXO.
Crystal Serum Light went on very easy and I only used about a third of the bottle on my s2000. I used microfiber suede and the carpro block to apply the CSL. This technique made it easier to control the amount applied as well as evenly spread the coating over all surfaces. After just the CSL the paint was very smooth and shiny.
I followed the same process to apply two coats of EXO. The paint didn't look much different after this but it's more about protecting the CSL in my mind.
The last step for me was to top the cured EXO with bead maker. I see this as a pretty cheap and easy way to add additional protection, shine, and slickness to the finish.
Happy detailing!
Easy application
Tremendous shine
Very smooth to the touch
Gloves in the kit are too small and rip easily (hard to find a negative honestly)

CSL & Exo duo is a winner!
June 30, 2022
I had installed CSL & Exo on my Jeep Grand Cherokee several months ago and like it so much that am going to install it on my E46 BMW. Easy to install once surface is prepped correctly. Just make sure you keep organized as to where you have applied and leveled. Water behavior when washing is fantastic. Haven't noticed any hydrophobic degradation after about 8 months. Good stuff!
Easy to install, but stay organized.
